What Is It?

Everything you need to know about attending the Great Outdoors Festival!

The 10th Annual Great Outdoors Festival is set to take place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Friday, August 22, Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, 2008. The Great Outdoors Festival is made up of nine villages, each filled with activities, seminars, demonstrations and exhibitions of industry related products. From fly fishing clinics and retriever dog demonstrations to shooting sports and archery, outdoor enthusiasts can participate in dozens of hands-on sporting activities.

Attendees at the Great Outdoors Festival can test their skills in nine specialized Festival villages. Novice to experienced sportsmen can try the latest sporting products in real-life conditions and receive coaching from skilled professionals. The specialized Villages include:

ATV Village – Test drive the latest ATVs on an off-road course.

Off Road/4x4 Village - Take the latest trucks and SUVs around a specially designed off road track.

Fishing Village – Paddle a canoe or kayak around the lake and learn the latest fly-fishing, spin casting and bait casting techniques.

Archery Village – Fully equipped with bows, arrows, 3-D targets and trick shooting demonstrations.

Sporting Dog Village – Be sure to catch the famous DockDogs® Big Air Competition and hear from experts in dog handling and training, see retriever demos and dog jump demos.

Biking and Camping Village – Check out the latest camping gear and the newest makes and models of bicycles.

Shooting Sports Village – Test out the latest shotguns, rifles, pistols and air rifles and see world renowned shooters demonstrating their skills.

Exhibitor Village – Check out the latest in outdoor accessories gear and gadgets, including duck and goose calls, hunting; camping; and fishing goods.

Conservation Village – Features local, regional and national conservation organizations while offering the chance to discover what nonprofit agencies are doing today to make a difference tomorrow.

KidsZone – Dozens of activities designed especially for the kids – including fishing, rock climbing, archery, shooting sports and more.
