InterMedia Outdoors is seeking a motivated and experienced video editor to produce online video content for our suite of Shooting enthusiast brands.
InterMedia Outdoors, Inc. is a multimedia company targeted exclusively to serving the information and entertainment needs of Outdoors Enthusiasts. We have the largest network of websites dedicated to the world of hunting, shooting and fishing, supplying outstanding editorial content, video programming, marketplaces, discussion forums and more. Our websites form an integral part of InterMedia Outdoors' 360° approach to serving Outdoors Enthusiasts via television/video, print, on-ground events, merchandise, mobile applications and the web.
The Online Video Editor - Shooting is responsible for producing and managing all digital video assets for our Hunting enthusiast brands including Guns & Ammo, Handguns, and Shooting Times, and Personal Defense TV:
- Working with the Editorial Director--Shooting to design an effective video strategy and content development approach for the Shooting genre
- Extracting web-ready video content from our existing TV shows that supports the overall content strategy; both short and long formats
- Creating new, web-ready video content based on archival footage as well as fill-in/supporting new content
- Developing new content features
- Supporting content development for the Shooting component of our video-on-demand service offered through our linear TV network, The Sportsman Channel.
Team Composition: Digital Content Team of 14-15 people, with a core Shooting team of an Editorial Director, 1-2 Online Editors and a Video Editor
Reports to: Editorial Director - Shooting
Location: Brainerd, MN
Key Qualifications
- Mastery of video editing process (content conception, editing, web publishing)
- Deep understanding of web-ready video encoding
- Minimum of 3 years of video editing experience
- Experience with industry-standard video editing and compression tools – FinalCut, Sorensen, etc.
- A high level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong sense of ownership/initiative/personal responsibility; the speed and nature of the work requires taking ownership of assigned projects and completing them on-time in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent multitasking abilities necessary to work on several demanding projects simultaneously
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree, required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working for an Enthusiast-focused/niche-targeted media company
- Interest/participation in the Outdoors: Hunting, Shooting and/or Fishing
- Wide breadth of Shooting knowledge including: techniques, tactics, and gear
