Position: Director of Marketing
Location: New York, NY
Reports to: Senior Vice President of Affiliate Relations and Chief Marketing Officer
Position Summary
The Sportsman Channel, a national television channel providing hunting, shooting and fishing programming, is seeking a Director of Marketing. This highly creative individual will lead a marketing team’s consumer awareness efforts and affiliate marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and execute marketing vehicles to create demand for TSC.
- Negotiate and map out the media planning process for consumer tune-in and branding, and trade promotion (ad trade and other vertical trade).
- Strategize and develop internal and external communication materials.
- Manage consumer off-channel marketing / advertising material production and budgeting for on-air and off-air campaigns.
- Execute effective subscriber acquisition campaigns in support of our affiliate partners.
- Oversee creation and execution of national promotions and trade shows.
- Manage external vendors in executing marketing plans.
- Assist in overseeing Marketing Department's Finances: Budget Planning, Tracking and Forecasting.
- Provide leadership and development of Marketing Team.
- Ensure a uniform, consistent product and corporate image though the media.
- Manage content for website and e-commerce opportunities.
- Performs all other duties that may be required by the employer.
Qualifications
- Creativity is a must.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated track record of excellent leadership skills with ability to
- anage, motivate & inspire a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of database management software such as ACT! and Medea is a plus.
- Ability to travel to national and regional trade shows and sales meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively performing a variety of deadline-driven projects.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as occasionally required.
- Enthusiasm for the hunting, shooting and /or fishing lifestyle is a plus but not required.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. MBA a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in the area of television and / or digital media.
